The truth and the story behind the marathon and why I have been against it for years
The marathon is the name of a war between Iran and Greece in which Iran was defeated. After that, a Greek warrior ran 42 kilometers and 195 meters to the capital of Greece, Athens, to bring the news to the center and he died right after saying the news of victory. According to all historical books Europe recorded defeat of Iran against the West as a symbol to humiliate Iranians.
Although any country can cherish its victories, they cannot be revived in the form of a universal sport. Because according to ethical principles and sports’ laws, no sport should be related to war, on the other hand, the marathon is a violation of human rights because it is targeted at the humiliation of a nation. And Europe itself that claims to be defending human rights, is openly, explicitly and officially ignoring and violating them. From the other hand unfortunately, most officials due to the lack of enough knowledge about their land’s history have made it happen in the country.
